google is still the powerhouse. and i tell ya. i like the gmail the more i think about it. i may have to buy some stock for the ipo! this latest branding idea of theirs is genius. google sponsored websites will appear all over the net. people who start at google will end up back at google over and over again. google websearch is the greatest invention for webmasters since cookies!

Every media is dependant on advertising/ advertisers. (Sans Satellite Radio) Without the fuel of advertising dollars who pays for servers? PHD's and massages? Truth be told, they are the only SE that has given smaller websites a passive way to generate income. Ultimately, though it is going to be an all out war to get eyeballs for the other major SE's. Where will that leave a small time time publisher that doesn't blog? Somewhere in the void? ..I dunno.. Keeping searchers trapped in a google web might be frustrating to some. Seems like masturbation to me. Google sends them to your results, if you don't have what they are looking for they go back out to find the same results in the SE that sent them there in the first place..
spyware is only gonna get bigger! google has the best spyware technology. when they corner the email market and rename email gmail they will dominate data mining. little kids will demand gmail. its all they will know.

Google is going to get to big for its boots. People will use other engines if they start to feel a bit iffy about google. and google can be manipulated.
