The affilaite programs that I signed up with didn't produce much of anything. That's why I quit! Not to say that there aren't profitable affiliate programs out there, I never found one. If a 'purchase' is necessary to fulfill your payout, there isn't a lot out there to be made.
Actually.. affiliate programs can bring in thousands a month.. if they are affiliate programs that fit with your site and clientelle... Like for example... on this site.. chances are you're not going to see a banner ad for a Casino.. but will for Hosting.... Target Marketing is key .. BIG TIME .. with affiliate money success.. and unfortunantly .. not to bash some of the "experts" out there... but affiliate money making opportunity.. isn't.. stick banner here and wait.... Very few people will make money that way... I have someone on my affiliate program who's made $5,000 in a month.... How? The reason being is .. he's smart enough to know he can't do web design... so he runs a site that is litterally nothing but my products.. and markets the hell out of them... he calls people, sells people.. and then *shrug* takes the money.... Another one of my clients... makes a LOT of money, because he purchases custom templates from me... and sells them to his clients who have paid a lot more then 3-500$ for a custom website.... he's not an "affiliate" he's almost more of a reseller... I'd say 40% of my clients are web designers that resell... They know I track my templates with a vengence, and know where each one goes... so they will buy them one at a time.. and sell them... You have to work at it... There are people out there ... (Not the BS marketing you read when you go to some sites) but people whom I've actually spoken with ... that have made 3000-10000/month in selling software and ebooks thru affiliate marketing.... You have to have the right product, and the time and desire to back it up... You don't want to sell the same thing that 5 billion other people have readily available at any idiots fingertips... You find special things and do it... Why do you think places like CJ.com can get away with charging their advertisers around 25,000$ just to start the program.... because it sells... if its done right....These people make it back in spades when people like us do the work for them!
