You will have to use actionscript inside the flash movie. search for actionscript sound control or something like that.
couldn't you just adjust the audio levels in the original movie
It's been awhile since I've used Flash, but in an older version, you could adjust the volume to do fades and stuff when you import the sound clip. You can probably use that to do what you want to.
