In case you are forgetting im in europe at the moment. Which means that everywhere bar thailand is within a couple of hundred miles of me right now. I make 20,000 pounds UK a year in my current job, plus whatever I make freelance (which is normally about half that again). Trip to Ireland return from london 50 pound by bus trip to amsterdam by plane 90 pound slovenia by plane=70 pound trip to andorra by plane and bus via france or spain 160ish trip to thailand return 370 pound. living expenses in london=astronomical Amsterdam for a week=slightly less(not counting recreation) Ireland=staying with friends=S.F.A Slovenia=S.F.A Andorra=cheap (especially with my sister there) Thailand=4 star hotel for 20 pound a night. Its cheaper for me to travel then go out on the tear in london. I spent nearly 100 pound last weekend on drink. London, Good place to make money Very good place to spend it.

Ireland is one of the most expensive countries in europe. Its almost as bad as england for prices and the wages are a lot worse. For the price of a city center pub in cork you could buy a 4 hectare island in malasia. Evena bog hole like bandon is still pricey. (except for renting accom, its still not to bad for some strange reason)
