For sure you could outsource that job cheaper. Probably for $200 or less.
Thanks Brigid and Webmastery. The cost of education is high! AuthorizeNet didn't give me much time so I just went with the Hosting Co. Programmer. When I do have lead time, for sure I'll outsource! I just thought 30 hours was way too long to complete a job like this! I need outside input so when I contest the charges I'll have some ground to stand on. Halli
well if you agreed to it you might have to pay. but check out http://www.rentacoder.com that should give you an idea of how much projects cost
Edwin, thank you for the link! Every day I'm alive, the more I know, the less I know! Halli
no problem halli that place is great when you need small jobs done. you can assign a deadline and enforce it.
I had a meet with the owner regarding the 30 hour charge for changing the gateway company. Evidently, the new gateway does backends much differently that the previous company and was not as "clean" of a system as the previous one was. They needed to write several programs to have the gateway interact with my shopping cart the way I had it set-up before. Anyway. long story short... I understood the situation since I myself have found the system not as user friendly etc. when I needed to "search", "force", "process" transactions etc... His explanation was completely satisfactory. There was much more involved than a simple switch. He discounted my bill anyway as a courtesy to a long-time customer. :D Thanks to everyone for there input! Halli
Sometimes these things happen. Hopefully the new gateway will make you more money in the long run.
