Message Board question?

one thing i can tell you: when you first start off don't make like 50 forums. make a few. if there are two many its too hard to get them started. make general topics and then get more specific as the conversation dictates it. also, you will need to try to start topics of interest daily.

I'd say just invite Edwin and Tom and Feathers...... you'll be rock'n the Forums soon enouph... :P

Hey!! What about me! *pouts*

 Sorry FP... how could I forget about you ?

 hehe s'ok...

What a Novice thing for me to do. You see, if I was a "SuperHeavyWeight" I would have never made such a lame mistake. I have a long road in front of me.....that's for sure.

 S'ok Chance.. You'll be out of Novice status soon!! I believe in ya!

another thing to do, for sure, is to join other message boards on the same topic. try to be active and answer questions. put your message board in the sig file and some people will show up. generally people who already post on message boards will post on yours.

And if any of the previous ideas don't work..... Offering to pay people always gets some attention. :o

[quote:451cbd8c15="fyrehawg"]Whats a good way to get a message board rolling? Is it pretty much a " If you build it ..they willcome." ? Or is there any tips and tricks anyone knows to draw attention to it? Hawg[/quote:451cbd8c15] From my experience, it's definitely not a case of "you build it, and they will come". Forums can be very competitive and are not always easy to get going, even if you have an established site. My advice: - actively promote the forums - get involved in the forums yourself and encourage friends, relatives, etc. - post controversial topics or pose questions, in order to develop discussions Aaron

an effective advise, post like mad on this forum and invite the admins/mods of this forum that should do it, i hope you have the bandwidth
