what i did was: lied on the application. tell them what they want to hear. then use them like a cheap floozy and never log in again. tell them you're a web designer and in your spare time you enjoy creating human edited directories on the internet.
Im just having problems comming up with a reason why anyone would want to edit Business/Financial_Services/Offshore_Services/Trust_Formation/ probably why there is no editor.

Darksat, DMOZ is not big on deep links. Use only the main page for the sample application. Double check everything and make sure you used the proper grammar and especially punctuation. Just keep a copy of their guidelines open in a Window while you fill out the application. What sucks is all you do is control a tiny categoy, so once you put yourself in and kick your competitors out, its a very short-lived career.
There arnt even any competitors in that catagory ideally i would like to be listed in the directory below because shelf companies arnt that popular any more when you can incorporate a new company in 24 hours.
darksat, do a check to make sure whatever sites you use as examples are not already in the directory. They could be anywhere. Good luck.

The effect of DMOZ links are inconsequential. To me, DMOZ is the domain of corrupt webmasters who are concerned with ranking their own sites only. It is not a legitimate place to get a link. I only got 2 links from DMOZ out of around 20 sites I submitted. Funny thing is, all of the site rank for a ton of search terms anyway. I don't believe DMOZ is worth anything more that a link from a "Link Partners" page with 20-30 outgoing pages. The PR passed is neglible. The anchor text is non existent, because they almost always edit the tag, and the title tag is your DOMAIN NAME! I submitted a bunch of sites again today. I won't turn down the free link if I get it, but they are not influential at all. 80% of the categories I looked at had no editors.
But eventually your links get mirrored on a wide range of sites with a fairly high pr. also the term i am targeting has the top 13 sites listed in DMOZ.
