snooping for dummies

It is very scary what you kind find out about someone nowadays... But will putting them under laws do any good?? Several of them will still continue "underground" until they are caught.. and someone else will do something bigger and better.. Unfortunantly technology tends to fall in the hands of stupid people....

you at least need some law to serve as a deterrent.

I picture true losers using these kind of methods. Nose running, evil griin on their face reading every bit of text that their girlfriend is typing in the computer. How unhealthy your relationship must be when you stoop to snooping.

I agree with Edwin, these need to be frowned upon instead of promoted by all the spam. Even if it is just by a law on the books. Maybe people will still do it, but the punishment could always be enforced. Sometimes scare tactics keep people in line.

Snoopware is for the lowest of the low. I pity anyone that has to use this to spy on people. This is sort of **off topic** but another "snoopware" device that has been making the news is cell phones that can also be used as cameras. Seems people are taking them in to gym locker rooms and taking pics of unssupecting folks.. My thoughts? Get a life Looser!! :D

True enouph, what ever happened to personal respect for each other. I couldn't believe it when I heard on the news that some people were doing this sort of thing with their phones. 8O

every day people hit new highs in lows.

I agree snoopware sucks.. and should be banned... however before you go to far in bashing anyone who uses it.. You have to keep in mind, 1. some people use it the same way they would use a detective... cheating spouse.. etc...desperate times call for desperate meaures... just because you don't agree .. or I don't agree with this.. the truth is somepeople do.. 2. companies with private networks.. they have every right to do so... it states in most major company contracts... so unfortunantly this is completely legal...

You do make some valid points. These points could be easilly defined in a new law to protect businesses and other areas that the majority of the population deam appropriate, but define when it is wrong. I think when most of us have an issue with it not when you hear of this software being used on "detective work" or "at work" but instead, used in a harmful manner. :?

I can't think of anything worse than making stupid people able to "hack". At least in the past it took some sort of skill and had a high learning curve.

corporations and businesses should have the right to "keep an eye" on what employees do on the clock. i don't feel that this is a violation of privacy. if an employee is on the clock they shouldn't be chatting via IM to friends as it interferes with productivity. my grandpa had a good way of spying on me when I was a teen.. he'd write down the mileage on the car. when i arrived home he would figure out how many miles were put on the car in my absence. a little old school (as this was before the dawn of computers) but always kept me in line!! :D

At some point a new set of laws WILL have to come in play because of these new set of issue going on with the Internet.
