yeah. i dont think he made an official announcement for google. he gave a speech to webmasters. officially google hasn't said anything at all. ever since the ipo got nearer they all went quiet because of their quiet period.
I cant find anything on it bar a couple of forum posts. I cant even find a quote. thats unusual.

Looks as if there has been a PR update in the Google Directory. ..and it isn't the same as what is being displayed on the GG toolbar, either.
no idea what the purpose of that is. weird.
I mentioned this before in another thread somewhere that I think Google is always updating behind the scenes. IE: They don't downgrade or upgrade your visible PR in the toobar, but do it behingd the scenes. This way WM's don't get riled up all of the time. Google Directory displays a PR4 (I think, they don't display #, just green bar) and the page on the net displays a PR6. It could just be a fluke for all I know, but listings sorted by PR in GDir show a significant drop.
