Multiple Ad Units Looking Good

Well timed as well.

From reading comments of other webmasters, apparently not all are pleased so far. Some have reported higher earnings, but some are reporting lower. I think it depends on the site layout, the ad positioning and the advert inventory for given keywords. Google starts populating the ads in a top-down fashion, giving priority to the first ad in the HTML (regardless of actual screen position). For those that get most of their clicks at the bottom of the page, this could be counterproductive because the cheaper ads would appear there. I've only experimented with 2 ads a little bit. I've been trying AdSonar as a alternative to public service ads, and when I added two AdSense blocks to my page, Google provided ads in the first block only, so I wound up with a no-no situation with AdSense and AdSonar ads on the same page. I may try again later. Anybody actually found this to be useful yet? If so, how about a link to show where it's working for you...

I think in some scenarios it will really work: People with message boards, nukes and the like probably get paid lower per click now so adding the ad in 3 places will give them a chance to get more clicks from the same visitors. They should see their earnings go up. If it's a very specific nice, multiple ad units might hurt. This is probably very true if there are limited advertisers. I think most people should just experiment. How good does AdSonar work? Is the EPC similar to AdSense?

its more money. more ads means more chances for people to click. more clicks = more money.
