How long till new cache?

Whens PageRank start showing up? ive had some good links for a couple months now and still no sign of any green in my bar.

hi fyrehawg! the google cache feature doesn't run on any fixed schedule from what i can see. if you check web-mastery.net in the cache you will see it was updated yesterday. two of my own sites were updated around 3 weeks ago. i suspect it is related to the indexing schedule. the more sites pointing to you, the faster and more often you get spidered. also, the higher the pagerank of the websites linking to you, the faster and more often you get spidered your pagerank should be coming soon. the last two pagerank updates came around the third week of the month. i will announce it as soon as the update begins.

looks like edwin beat me to it. to answer the second part of your question. have you web host turn on "referrers" and reverse DNS. that way you will see the useragents as they crawl. crawl23.googlebot.com - - [17/Oct/2003:07:20:31 -0400] "GET /robots.txt HTTP/1.0" 200 195 "-" "Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)" crawl23.googlebot.com - - [17/Oct/2003:07:20:32 -0400] "GET /posts57-465.html&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= HTTP/1.0" 200 77345 "-" "Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)" that's how the entries should look. referrer codes show the resolved ip and the user-agent.

got it guys...working now thanks. hawg

Don't forget also.. Google follows the sites not only based on PageRank.. but how often it changes.. if you change things significantly on a constant basis... it stays with you quite a while...
