there's no comparison. adsense is the cadillac of context ads.
They are the standard almost everywhere you go on the internet. I hear folks do very well with Adsense?
sure do. i know i make more from adsense than a part time job in a pizza shop!
If you have traffic and good ad placement, you'll do great. If you get 500 unique visitors a day, you should definitely have enough to make car payments. If anybody needs help, please let me know.
Mental note, get 500 unique visitors a day. mental note, get car. I actually want to say you make more money selling advertising directly to the client cutting out the middle man like adsense. I designed a surfing website that makes 15,000 euro a year in advertising revenue just by selling sponsorship to bicsurf, nokia etc.
but adsense has a big advantage over selling ads directly. google sells all the ads and if one advertiser falls off another one will fill in. the money is more steady. but better yet, sell both.
We have over a dozen advertisers so its not really a problem.
True, but if you are a small company, this might not be part of your business plan. That may require a salesperson, account manager etc. Google offers the advantage of displaying relevant ads without having to add this as a department or payroll..
it would be interesting to see the cpm. thats why adsense now use effective cpm. most banner sales couldn't compete.
I think Huka was a "One Post Wonder". :P
yeah. a runner and gunner.
I love Adsense, its easy to use, the ads are good and I do well from it. Clare
adsense can be big money for everyone.
Almost everyone. I can't imagine it would do well for sites like "lyrics" sites or software download. Lots of high traffic, low CTR sites would probably fair poorly.
You are going to see "Ad Placement" and "Ad Integration" start to be huge. For example just take a look at the product placement that goes on in television. You get better results when the target is (for lacke of a better expression) tricked into paying attention to the ad. Banners and popups are becoming a thing of the past.
i agree with you. if you ever watch mtv cribs you notice how they always go in the fridge? usually someone has krispy kreme donuts! same thing will happen on websites. i also see a big need for professional forum posters to pump products.
Banners are definitely the worst you can do. Less than 1% CTR, even with targeted traffic. Definitely a tough way to make money, unless you have a huge number of impressions.
