submit to them all if free. http://webmaster-resources.web-mastery.net/directory-list.html
Does that mean the new rhythms are going to not punish us for BS links?? (like listing in 500 directories) ... Link Farms, etc...?? Are we not going to get "punished" for them?
I think directory listings are very valid, especially if they are in a 'topic-specific' directory.
I submit to just about any directory that has a reasonable one time fee & provides static links that get indexed by search engines. each link by itself does not mean much, but if you list in 30 directories that your competitiors are not listed in it really can add up
Therefore, all webmaster should submit to my directory (shameless plug) No, seriously. Directories are good, but I always find it hard to find one that provide direct link, or keep your link close to the root without burying it 3 level deep. Some even went as far as to give you indirect link and block spiders, as evident by the gray PR.
[quote:9e71f7f932="Frederico"]Let's talk about the best overall strategies for using Directories successfully. Should we take a scatter shot approach and submit to all of them. Which is the best directory, and why? Interested in hearing your input.[/quote:9e71f7f932] Submit to all the directories you can. No one directory will be a great source of traffic but as a cumulative of hundreds of directories they can be a great source for links as well as a moderate source of traffic. Read and follow the submission guidelines and you will have no problem being accepted; some directories are very strict about submissions. Here is a list of directories from my site: http://www.wowdirectory.com/resources/
their is an seo benefit. you get links for many seperate ip addresses. submittting to directories is a good practice to follow.
