If you post the link to the space, we can check the IP. But they may very well have restrictions to you doing that.
Jer, I don't really think this is going to be possible. I'm not familiar with a way to do what you want. But hosting starts very cheap, $2 a month...
As was posted previously, if you quote the URL, we can help you find out if it indeed has a unique IP address that you can point a domain to. I am going to wager that will not be the case though, and that Earthlink simply has you set up with a simple subdirectory off their main website... hence you won't be able to point any domain to it via traditional DNS methods. Just for grins you could set up a domain and redirect to your Earthlink hosted directory, but why bother? You might as well find a cheap or free host that offers domain name support (we do, but you have to have an existing domain registered and DNS settings enabled). Post some more follow-up questions and let's see if we can help you figure out the best way to proceed. BTW, what kind of website/content are you trying to publish? :?:
