meta keywords tag is big in yahoo. and yes, these basics work: matching title matching h1 tags and go a little heavier on the on-page than for google.

Keep it natural, I would say 1.6%+ but it varies for the keyword, check out the percentages for the sites toping the serps.
Might not be number one, but an important thing would be to get some outside links from places like directories, etc. It might cost a few bucks, but they will help.
One other thing about getting outside links: It will help your site get spidered faster by Yahoo if you have links from sites Y already likes. Not to mention that it will help with your ranking on Google as well :) You also need to make sure your keywords are the link text in your links as well. what????? how do you verify that, i want to know it too. I use digital printing, printing, business card, flyers, and trade show.

Its a rip off in my opinion.
haha, i know they offer $299 for directory submission for a year; however, they do not guarantee they will list your site. So I use just the their free service.
Exactly its a rip off. Besides you can get in for free, it just takes a while. The free submit still works. Yahoo in france actually removed paid inclusion because there were some many listings, people complain it wasn't worth the money.
