Google dumped me!!!

Provide us with a bit more info, what terms were you targeting , whats the website adress, etc.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. Any details might be helpful :) Has anything significant been changed on the site?

The terms I targeted included 'business invitations', 'housewarming invitations' 'tea party invitations' and others. The only thing that was changed was the images in some of the pages. But even in doing this, nothing unethical (as per Google) was done. Just one image replaced with another of the same size with the same alt tag. What is worse is that the results seem to have drastically dropped in a number of other places as well. Like AJ, Excite (with 'anniversary invitations' I was #1 one month back - now I am not in the first three pages). I am at a loss. Though results do change, but rarely have I noticed such a dramatic shift in just 1 month time. What's up? Can anything be done?

Did the page name change at all? This could make a big difference...

No the page names were not changed even a bit. They remain simple html pages for ease of crawling.

if the site is new, this might not be a big deal it seems sometimes google reverts to an older index. if you weren't in the old one you drop out. if the site is over six months old it might be a bigger deal

Post the URL.

This happens from time to time for newer sites. The best way to make your site more stable is to get links from diverse IP ranges. The higher the PR, the better of the page linking to you. When you have a pretty good collection of backlinks you'll see your site's rankings get a lot more stable.
