i agree with fpworld. their software probably doesn't support the feature. and after all, what do you want, it's free?

I've never used it either... however it does get used .. because we do get quite a few referrals from it
the big key to dmoz is the cloning of the directory. you can pick up a hundred or so extra links without doing extra work. thats why webmasters obsess about it.
it will definitely give your backlinks a boost! they don't notify you if you are in either. i submitted and sort of forgot about it then went to DMOZ and found my listing. It still isn't showing as a backlink, though..
I've been in DMOZ for well over a year.. close to almost 2 I think... and I have yet to see them show in my backlink.. so don't hold your breath LOL

Thats so cool.. I didn't realize that.. Google says I have like 50... *groan* I can hope I wont be a 4 much longer... Do you know how much it hurts my feelings to help people go from 2 up to a 6-8 and not be able to make yours go up?? that is a pretty big leap. congrats! its the anchor text. just get more anchor text that says "frontpage templates". that's all it takes.
The designers used that one site.. that weighs words or whatever... I think either you or tom suggested it... and made our two major sites balance perfect... Now I get to spend the next couple weeks posting in directories... *sigh* to up our link count.... What I wouldn't give for a page rank of 6+ and top 5 in google... my goal in life! How pathetic is that? LOL

I think the main reason rejection emails are not sent out is because they would lead to a very high volume of replies. I'm sure we would all rather the editors where editing, instead of getting into email disputes. Perhaps this is the thinking behing this.
yeah that makes some amount of sense. they could always use a "do not reply" address though. even JoeAnt has a check your submission status page though. you enter your tracking code and at least is says "date entered and under review". it's tough for neophyte webmasters to be patient.
Yeah.. but you can think of it this way... It is tough for webmasters to wait... but... How many people know about DMOZ vs JoeAnt??? DMOZ is (was?) THE place to get into ... So they have a lot more people to deal with... So they don't have the time or desire to deal with impatient webmasters... or who knows.. maybe they get a kick out of making webmasters wait?! Isn't there an old rule that states.. "If you have to wait for it.. it must be good" ... Kinda like the designers and stuff for the stars... they have year long waiting lists... and I'm sure they don't have a little calendar that sends out "soons" to people... If you have to wait for something it must be good right?? People always want the unobtainable...
I agree with some amount of waiting makes you more exclusive: but 18 months or more! WOW!

If you have suggetions for DMOZ, why don't you just let them know directly :idea: . Maybe they will thinks its a good idea and actually add that feature. I personally think that rejection e-mail would be extremely helpful.
