i agree. the big problem is that they have to rely on knowing the ip addresses of all of googles spiders. as we just saw google changes these sometimes. so the new ip comes, the cloaking script doesnt recognize the ip and the whole deal is blown.
It can be done but it requires a lot of skill and a lot of effort. its not worth it in my opinion.

Cloaking could ruin any legitimate work that you could do on a website. I third the opinion to "skip it"
