Backdoor agent 2 (Trojan horse)

Do you have and run Spybot and Ad-Aware, Paul? If not, you should. Get them, install them, check for the most recent updates, then scan your computer and delete anything it finds. Both are free. Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com

Having had this particular pc for a little while now, I've loaded and deleted all sorts of stuff on it, downloaded, and generally hamered the thing (not with much skill I'm afraid ) it has glithces regular, freezes, does not find the modem on start-up and certain programs terminate and reprt errors when they shouldn't......... Is the only answer to format the machine and start fresh ? Surely conflict will always be around, with windows apps and 'user added' stuff' fighting it out ? There's no program been invented to solve the conflict / glitching and freezing probs ?

Read this http://www.web-mastery.net/postx1402-0-0.html The fourth post and the 5th last are the important ones.

That is the reason your computer is freezing, and doing all those weird things. Even if you formated, you still should get those programs. I use them once a week to scan for junk I've picked up while working. And yeah, read that other thread that Darksat pointed out to you.
