[quote:ad61b48f16="tom"]i'm hosted by a friend who is very reasonable to me because we're friends :)[/quote:ad61b48f16] Are you paying him for it though? (Some of my friends run a joint website at www.and-then.org )
[quote:5099d45f65="tom"]i'm hosted by a friend who is very reasonable to me because we're friends :)[/quote:5099d45f65] I'm also hosted by a friend, who wasn't my friend until he started hosting MY SITE... He's been hosting my site for about 3 weeks now for free, I guess we've almost been friends that long. My host before that was the same, he hosted me for free but we never really became friends, he disappeared off the face of the earth though so i had to get new hosting. I'm hosted by volumeserver.com has really good prices and the best support that I think will ever exist... They're changing servers/name to volume hosting and their prices are going to go up a small ammount, but they'll still be very competetive prices. Anyway the support is so good that instead of transfering each site from server to server, he individually has been copying every single account onto his computer and uploads it onto the new servers to make there no possible chance of any bad data. He even did that with my site and he's hosting me for free.
Mine's hosted by www.amdac.com - I love them
It seems everyone has their own domain... (resists urge to start a 'how much does your hosting cost' thing)
Having your own domain is definitely worth the extra cost.
The statement that not having a domain makes to the world is: "I really don't have $10" Is that the statement you want to make? If so...carry on and have a nice day!
