Definitely interesting topic to me also. I am getting ready to monetize some eyeballs :)
Ok I have a question.. joining Google adsense... it projects things that mix with your site right??? How do you guarantee what they are projecting isn't your competition? For me example... My main job is Templates... HOWEVER... 80-90% of our business ends up being Custom Templates, some of which go into Custom Web Design... and several go into Web Hosting.... Not to mention, Logo Design.... Plus we deal with our own EComm... (which includes a Merchant Account and Authorize.Net account...) So Ummmm is there anything left for google to mix with my clients??? without harming my chances?
It looks like you can set "Competition Filters". You can also display the ads on any page you want so that might be a way to seperate the ads from the competition. One thougt struck me as it concerned a product page: if they are leaving or "clicking off" your page, why not get paid?
Unfortunantly.. I'm not sure what good it would do me to join them.. as there isn't much left that we don't do... :?: Ahhh well.... As for your question... I'm confused... You don't get paid for the click? If you're only getting paid if someone buys.. wouldn't you be better off joining that specific persons affiliate program? and getting paid a better commission?
Yes you get paid for the click. That's what I meant. Since they're leaving a site anyway you make money on their click out of your site and off to the next one.
Ahh Ok... Hmm that is a good point... Maybe it is worth it...
if you install pretty good tracking software you can figure out what page people exit from. depending on their exit you can maximize click through. my mind is starting to spin about this google adsense. i need to find the highest paying clicks and optimize for those.
Edwin me boy you have a point. Asbestos lawyers pay $50 per click for mesothelioma. Think about it! Per click, not sale. To me this is better than affiliate status. FPWorld, it costs nothing to join. I say try it on a page or two: you may be pleasantly surprised at your earnings Or build an info site about templates and optimize for AdSense.
whoa! $50 per click! i am going to figure out what the heck that word is and build a site! fpworld if people are already at your page and want to buy your templates they will. but if they are leaving because they don't want to you can make bucks on the way out. heck i say experiment with it.
Very good point guys... I will have to try it.. 50$/click?????????????????????????? Thats... Oh man.. thats quite a bit!
Dang! Do you know how many sites on mesothelioma there are??? Which one pays $50.. do you know?
Not sure who the exact players are but undoubtedly a class action lawyer paying $50 per click. I guess they can earn it back when they win a lawsuit in the tens of millions. There are also big bids on Casinos, mortgages and others. All of these fields are very competitive obviously because of the big money. But the nice thing I see about AdSense is that you don't have to make a sale to get paid. With affiliate programs you send people to a site and if the site doesn't sell you don't earn. Easier to get money for the traffic.
The only thing I can find on that.... is that on overature it costs you $50.00/click for the word: mesothelioma I'm still looking.. but I cannot seem to find any affiliate programs as of yet for any of the lawyers..
Yeah, these aren't through affiliates but through Pay Per Click. Let's do some math: 10 clicks = $500 100 clicks = $5000 Now that is what I'm talking about!
Thats what I mean... if you search mesothelioma pay per click It pulls up SEO information, including how it will cost you around $50 for overture... Is it google that will pay you for them? I'm also going to go into my PPC Database.. but I'm not having much luck finding any yet...
Yeah, it's Google or Overture who will actually pay the money.
I've looked everywhere.. if you can find them! Share!!! Litterally the only thing I can find is how the lawyers are paying upwards of $50.00 per click to the SE's to keep themselves on top... If it sounds to good to be true.. it usually is *sigh*
i think you are confused miss world, the only way you can see the maximum bid is if you are logged in to the interface like with adwords or overture. the purchaser of the ads will set a maximum bid amount. if a buyer clicks on the ad the publisher of the website gets a commission, like half of the click price. does this make sense?
Yeah... I figured as much after Tom's last post ... Unfortunantly I had already posted the other  Hey .. Its been a long day.... You will all be sad to hear.. Thanks Edwin.. that is very sweet.. and HEY???? What the heck ?? Whats up with the new rank!?!? Cool that I made it .. but dang!! Gorilla???
a 900 pound gorilla is a symbol of power! http://www.myfatherusedtosay.com/cnmGorilla.htm
Edwin, you need to get in AdSense. I think it will make you very happy :)
Way to go Tom. I have two sites in there now and am also enjoying the results.
I mean it's only been a few days so there's no reason to be overly excited, but the results have been great. Google does a very good job of keeping the text links on topic for you site, plus there are enough color schemes where they blend in nicely. With effort, almost any website can be profitable with AdSense.
Cool. So the ad technology itself is impressive?
