Hi tom, Thanks again. Because I run the directory myself it can sometimes be a little while before a site will show up in the directory. Either a lot of submissions or me being lazy 8) Thanks for adding your site though, and a very big thanks for the link :D Click4Choice.
truth is most people realize directories are volunteers and site submissions can take awhile. i am all for more directories. the more the merrier and thanks to all the people who work on them.

"make sure to backup your data" LOL yea tell me about it. Thankfully I do, and have had to use it on a few occasious. :wink: The partnership with Sootle is pretty cool. I found out about Sootle when I saw Sootlebot in my logs, First thought was "another useless spider" I visited the site and was very impressed. I curently use feeds from other se's for backfill and decided to use Sootle instead. My way of thinking is, results are results. Sootles results are good and it is run by one guy. I would rather use Sootle than some company who don't care or know I am using them. With Sootle my traffic will actualy help. I think it is good that small sites are getting together. Sootle is very new and I think it may have a good future in store for it. I will be switching to Sootle for web results in the next couple of weeks. Sootle will also be displaying Category listings from within my directory, he already has this in place. Sootle although very new has potential, I think we have all agreed, in previous threads that his results are good. At lease I will be able to say I was the first directory to use them. Click4Choice.
Yes, I agree with you. It makes sense for smaller Internet entities to team up. That's how we can all become "larger Internet entities" someday.
In se business it is all about quality of results. So if you found a good way to increase the quality of your results and usability of your se/directory why not go with it. I personally think that with se you can get very popular if you provide quality results. I don't use Google because it is popular, I do it because it gives me excellent search results. If it was AltaVista, alltheweb, msn even you guys, I would search you instead. I'm sure that most people think the same way. Brand awareness definitely plays an important role here, but it is not the major factor. I'm sure that in a year or too you will be as popular as Google :D
i agree. there is always room for any site that is useful to it's visitors.
Yes, Me and Alistair, have a great partnerships with Alistair's directory and my search engine , I'm glad we have somewhere to announce it, more information about our partnership is available here: http://sootle.sidsfunstuff.com/blog.html And also, with the category matches listings, we also have partnershiped with Click4Choice's PPC engine. http://www.anzers.co.uk You can see those at the top of my web results. We are thinking (I think I announced it in this forum somewhere) of partnershipping with the directory and make the directory appear in our site, but from the Click4Choice database. Which if you are listed in the Click4Choice directory, you get an higher ranking in the Sootle algo. Buit we've gotta get the technology setup 8O Thanks for your intrest.
