FTP AND UPLOADING ISSUES

hello italicus! :welcome i tried loading your site, it took very long and never opened. can you tell us more about the server?

:roll: Dear Edwin, since we are startups we opted for a hosting solution with Tripod America. The files appear as uploaded in our file manager, but cannot be published. We have even tried uploading them with Frontpage, and the Frontpage publishing tool works quite well. Their Frontpage server is http://frontpage.tripod.com/your_username/. italicus, something is desperately wrong! the site never shows up and it never times out after a minute or so. are your running some sort of script? are your files huge? you may want to delete what you already have put up and put a small plain file like [code:1:4e7988597b] <html> <head> <title>my site</title> </head> <body> <p>Hello World</p> </html> </body> [/code:1:4e7988597b] that way you can see if the server is functioning at all.

:welcome Italicus I assume that you have purchased the domain space on tripod, and not just used the free service.. you should have access to Live Support... have you tried contacting them? I have to agree with Tom and Edwin.. something is very wrong... if you are publishing via FrontPage and it says its been uploaded.. then it should be... are you publishing directly to: http://www.ingleseplus.com ? .. In FrontPage.. make sure you do not forget the http:// when publishing... To double check whether or not it works... you can also turn around and "open web" .. in the web box... type in: http://www.ingleseplus.com it should then require your username and password.... then .. if it was truly uploaded it should show all of your files in the left hand column... If it doesn't then you did not get it published correctly.... These all should be available to anything that supports FrontPage Extensions...

That is a scary slow load time.

:roll: Dear Edwin and friends, I successfully uploaded a test page on www.ingleseplus.com, but can they see it? If it works, you should see a sentense in red, white, and green, a waving bugs bunny and a voice file when you click on it. If you don't see anything at all I will contact Tripod help pronto. I just wish these guys had a phone number. Lycos Italia had one, but they they took it off their site. Italicus

I don't see "Red White and Green" But I do see the bunny, and words that state: THIS IS A FRONTPAGE TEST FOR INGLESEPLUS. IF YOU CAN SEE THE COLOURS AND THE RABBIT ON THIS PAGE IT MEANS THINGS ARE BACK TO NORMAL.CLICK ON BUNNY FOR SOUND TEST in a few different colors..and the sound test did work.. :)

hey italicus! this time i see it. i see multi colors and bugs bunny also. it's definitely working better than before. you are starting to get somewhere now.
