The main site is actually pretty fast. So they sure did do a nice job of the hardware upgrade. I still never got my listing yet, but that is not a technical issue.
Edwin.. It's nice to see that you came back to leave a nice word. Very rarely does anyone ever follow up with an "everything is fixed!" Tom, How long has it been?
a lot of categories don't have editors. i think its time for me to apply.

For me, they need to sort out the problem with editors. Or lack thereof. I went to a significant degree of trouble to apply to be editor for the travel and tourism sub-category within the category for our local town which itself is only small (population around 60,000). I was rejected on the grounds that I did not choose a specific enough category. :roll: :evil: Aaron

i went ahead and applied to be an editor i of course was accepted! unfortunately it is the editor of a dinky little category that won't even benefit any sites of mine. i thought i was gonna be able to pump my sites in all day. i hardly have any power at all.
Edwin, you're not supposed to become an editor for personal gain! You sound corrupt!
:lol: and of course all the other editors in DMOZ and sites like DMOZ did it for complete and total "goodness of the heart" syndrome... :roll: I say go for it! Got the time.. why not! I would do it too..if I could just find a few more hours in a day!
True enough. Maybe someday he can work his way up in the hierarchy and gain more control of the whole organization!
that is my plan. it may take years but it will be worth it. it is true that many of the listings are just crap and are not guideline compliant. people toss junk in there in the wrong categories and cry when they don't get in. do your title and description right and you might get in!
