expired domains trick no longer valid


Good for DMOZ and Google in this aspect... Why should they have the easy road because they happened to have quick fingers and bought the domains first... All the rest of us have to use our blood, sweat, tears and hours upon hours daily to get there!... *claps hands for DMOZ and Google*


It's not really too surprising that they can catch that trick. They keep a running tab of the Whois information and when it expires they reset the links. I'm not sure why it retained PageRank but actually that might disappear after their next update.


this foaf would still rate the experiment as somewhat interesting. the sites came with pagerank already and pointing anchor text at target pages did help the rankings. but that was in the pre-florida anchor text is king days.
