Tom, I downloaded from the website you directed me to before I posted the above question. I went in and deleated the hosts files in system 31 and Google reappeared! :o Now, what about all the other hijacked files? The website tells tou to ask on a forum what is good and what is bad. Thanks for the input!! PS, why are the dates and times of posting like they are? Allie

Was the main problem you had going to Google? If you time is off, you can set in your Control Panel options. Clcik on the Login/Register button above and choose your correct timezone from a pull down menu.

try using adware 6 and spybot search and distroy, both free programs

*why* is this in Google and not General? BTW I agree Adaware is best for this problem. Also ensure you have a firewall, try Zonealarm (zonelabs.com).
