Thanks Searchey. My site is not up and running just yet. I'll probably work on it a little bit more before showing it off to the world. :)
Always a good idea to put your best foot forward! Have a good one!
11x8" peicec of paper? uhm I doubt there's a name for it... I think what you're experiencing is a higher resolution than 800x600. Most people set up sites for 800x600 so that people with 800x600 don't have to scroll. When I was using my computer downstairs because I couldn't get the internet working I had 800x600 and the Webpage took up the whole screen. My site actually requires a tiny bit of horizontal scroll to view the whole thing on 800x600 but you can view all text and content without scrolling, and I designed it to be veiwed by 800x600 and up... If you're using 1024 the page will look smaller, and take up less of the site. It's not exactly a trend, it's Webmasters accomadating for 99.9% their visitors.
I think the design is standard.
I only had one link and I got into all the engines. I never paid any attention, which was good. One day I checked and I was there :)

i like the staring. i find it relaxing.
So just adding your url - for example - http://www.golfdownsouth.com will allow google spiders to pick it up?
Hiya, whiskey! Welcome to the forum. You don't need to add your site to any of the search engines. Concentrate on suggesting your site to directories. If you get accepted into the main directories that are spidered by google (and all the other important search engines) it will pick up your link. You can find an excellent list of directories right here Good luck!
you'll get indexed from this thread. any link from almost any site will do it.
It still takes a bit of time though. perhaps up to a month. perhaps tomorrow. you never know.
