Congratulations Andrea! That's great news! :D

Thanks guys! :)

All you have to do now is keep up a good work and fight for the 1st place. You can do it. We have faith in you :) Andrey

:) I have faith in everyone... its thanks to all of you guys that we got up there to begin with! :) But thanks for the confidence as well ;-)

just keep at it. it takes time and persistence but its worth it.

I found this site through google.

 I am curious to see the article you are speaking of that you used to get back into google. All of our sites were taken way down in rank this week for keywords that are not all that competitive.

HI jksco, :welcome What industry are you in? These Google filters seem to pretty specific.

:welcome :) First off.. I can't remember the exact article it was a combined effort with a lot of information thru this site here... read thru all the different google posts and you'll find it... as well as Tom, Rob, Edwin, etc... all helped... The way we got under was... We were literally optimized TOO perfect.... believe it or not .. its true... I had to break my optimization... We went from page one to never to be seen again... I went to keyworddensity.com and lowered my density to 4%... IE: FrontPage Templates.... put frontpage here... .and templates there... etc.. and spread them out... less then a week later I was back to page 2 Good luck!! I know how frustrating it is!!

We are in the homeimprovement industry. Barb is working on a template for us now. We did not get hit in the first wave but this wekend apparaently a second wave hit and we got destroyed. All of our sites, all with different products, vanished from google except ofr a few, unpopular search terms. http://www.jnkproducts.com http://www.garagefloorprotection.com hit the worst

Hi Justin!! Oh wow... I just talked with Barb about your design.. Thats awesome.. she said she sent you here.. I think you'll like it... Its thanks to these guys here and a lot of work that we're back up and you found us ;-) I didn't realize it was you :) Everyone has been hurt in google numerous times for most of us... so believe me we all understand You've got some low PR and Backlinks...Were you higher before??? I'll do my best to help you as much as I can, and never be afraid to ask a question here, if the answer is out there between all of us here in webmastery it will be found... What type of keywords were you on or want to be on?

My PR has always been low. All of the keywords were very non competitive. I did not know that backlinks wer bad. Every page on the site links to every other page... garage floor cover garage floor mat liquid roof rv roof repair flat roof repair etc, etc.

links aren't bad! and having the correct page names is the best thing to do. its also good to link every page to every page. are you in the top 1000? were there any technical changes made lately? any dns changes?

Getting your PR up should be pretty easy with all the minds in this group.. we are all moving up thanks to each other... so we'll fix that soon enough.. Plus if Barb is doing a Custom Template that means she'll do her best to give you the jump start your going to need... before you use that template, since you're already hurting in PR... decide now what pages you're going to keep and which you're going to toss.. if there was ever a good time to delete pages and rename pages it will be when you get the template where it wont do much damage. Those are pretty rough keywords... Just glancing at your site briefly.. I can't quite figure out how you hit the top on those... Its not you personally, its what I just went thru myself as well... There are not enough uses of the keywords you need... I've had this arguement with more people then I can count recently .. but one thing you need to know is that Meta tags mean very little now... the title, page name and the words on your page are where it counts now and if these aren't very competitive maybe take a look for more general and more used keywords for your main page such as redecorating supplies.. building supplies.. something that is more general for your overall business and will bring you more traffic... and use interior pages to go hard core on the "insignificant" keywords... ie: liquid_roof.htm focuses on Liquid Roof..... Roof made of Liquid... Purple liquid for the roof.... etc....

No technical changes have been made. The odd thing it is 4 different websites in 4 different industries and most of my competitors as well. Checking on top 1000 thing. The only thing I do that maybe they do not like is link my sites to eah other, but they are not duplicating content.

Many cross linked sites appear to be okay. Were you always in the top for these?

yes

most of my keywrods now appear in the top 800 whereas before they were in the top 10. Keywords like garage floor cover, garage floor, garage floors, no longer appear in top 1000

True, I never did fill pages with keywords. I used web position gold to determine what it thought I should do... I still do very well on msn and other Inktomi sites. The new site is going to be completely different. I am even thinking of using a new domain name for it. The idea behind it will be to put all of my products on one domain while still having domains dedicated to each individual product. Do you think it will be easier to get back in google with a new name –since I am doing a complete redesign anyway, or should I use my current main domain name?

It really couldn't hurt you to experiment with a seperate domain name. This is especially true if you are selling products on one page and using other pages as "informational". Plus, if there is any sort of ban/filter the new domain should bypass it. If you are in the top 800 then you aren't completely banned. You might want to target individual pages for the keyphrases you want.

I agree with Searchey... If you're still listed that means you weren't banned but the more you diversify with domain names the better off you are in my opnion... I link between my sites and never have a problem.. the only time you hit a problem is when you start digging down into IP addresses and how many sites on the same block of IP link to each other.. the filters caught on to people going back and forth to themselves for "link popularity" really quick... I think your best bet is to go for the complete redesign.. start from scratch (not like you're hurting your top 10 standing) and find as many high traffic keywords in your industry as you can... I'll do my best to help you find some... I'll go thru your site later and see what I can think of... but definantely going page by page and seperating keywords is probably the best idea.. correct naming, and density and you may just shoot right back up...

As soon as I get the template from Barb I am going to do the complete redesign and pay for hosting on your server... just in case ... they have filtered others off of my present hosting company. I should have it any time now. Can't wait to see it.

:) That is awesome Justin... I look forward to working with you for extended period of time then :) ... Barb is the best designer we have.. so I know you'll love it... I have yet to see one person disappointed when she's done the work! :)

My listings were replaced by listings like this http://www.bltllc.com/garage_floor_protector_c.html that are filled with junk and redirects. What a joke! (but shhh they lonk to me)

yeah. definitely an ugly redirect! this latest "update" is an ugly one for sure. i don't think these are permanent.

I agree that it isn't going to be permanent.. I think google is playing with different things to see what (like Florida tho it ticked a lot of people off, including me.. it did remove a lot of trash as well) will stick and stick well...

I could not get a reply from normal google addresses, but I did receive a reply from adwords. They said that they forwarded my concerns to customer relations but all of my sites were indexed and recent ranking changes were a result of change to the index to improve the quality and value of their results.

Probably it has been by Austin update. Some things changed on google algorithms. My sugeestion is to re-optimize the sites if you don't want to get dropped or even banned. Ivan

it's gonna be tough to re-optimize if we don't know what works anymore! i think its the links getting sites banned.

No way google will be that dumb to alter their algo and optimization needs that dramatically... look what happened the last time they did... Even Google and its lack of customer relations would commit online suicide with them already tetering on the edge ... *gulp* Right????
