I just hope they don't get to big for their britches also...
they are all too big for their britches! and let's face it. we all would be. if we controlled all of the traffic on the internet we would push people around too! its human nature
Ok that is very true.. you got me on that one... However... Yahoo does differ with Google in one aspect... They still take care of you as well as they ever did... they've been big forever, but they still care a little ... Rather then go from Good Service to Sh*t... They went from Ok to Ok.. unlike Google
google is a dis-organized mess. most employees are newbies and most of them are looking to get rich off the ipo. they are bound to get worse and worse since they have human resource problems. this company is a pure hype machine. they will be getting knocked off their high horse soon.
I think they have planned the IPO in April. If that is the case, I think Yahoo is slowly phasing them out prior to this happening. MSN has been having excellent results for me lately, so I'm cheering Tom's idea for 2004. varied results from all kinds of places. Yahoo is slowly going to start "personalized" searches. This meaning having your log in information, and can personalize your search. Maybe even go so far as to [i:9c002c4181]suggest[/i:9c002c4181] what to search for. Google doesn't really have this competitive edge as far as membership goes. Although many people use it on a day to day basis, this is more like a "tool" website. It has no membership association, no branding. no one you know, other than the googleteam, gets Email. Just my thoughts. FWIW :)
yahoo has a huge advantage with the membership info. they can start personalizing the searches. more suggestions and recommendation type search results. they have been mining data for years and since they're an isp with sbc, they have tons of demographic info. if you ever read yahoo's privacy policy you would be amazed. they keep all kinds of info on you. google is late getting to that game compared with aol, msn, and yahoo. i really dont know how many people have the google toolbar.
I have the google toolbar, I think it's great! Or I did untill google started getting weird results. Seriously, my results no longer work o.0 I think I want to get a dif. toolbar. They are handy.
i like the pop-up blocker myself. it has blocked many many ads!
Google toolbar is as good as the search results. You can get popup blocker with virtually every toolbar out there. It was nice to have good results and good blocker but if results suck then its time to switch to Alexa or something like that. Andrey
i see bad results for error message lookups. now the only pages coming up are pages indexed with the error message.
The ad blocker. way way cool. My surfing experience has been so much cleaner. I like have only three windows open right now instead of about a billion and then the computer becomes dangerously "low on resources" if I have that many open. I love the pop up blocker.
[quote:d081d81fd1]All the Google talk has gotten stale. [/quote:d081d81fd1] Yup. I was bored Florida two days after it happened.
when florida came, everyone rushed in to become the new internet guru/pseudo expert. they figure if they guess right and publish it in their blog first, they will become famous as world wide expert seos. and they are right. except no one really hit it that big with their theory.
Florida actually happened in two stages, in case anyone remembers. :)
hmm. 2 stages! hmmm. first was the panic stage for webmasters. followed by the jump out of windows stage! :P
