THank you very much it is nice to see that there are people out there willing to help.
The way I set up passwords, if you are looking for a no-hassle no-scripting way is go to www.bravenet.com and set up their password service. It has ads and isn't perfect, but it's easy and it works. All it does is, you input your name/password and then it forwards you to the page you want. It works very well! The password box is nice (and editable) too.
if you have an apache server and you just need to do authentication, you can always use .htaccess files. it is one of the simplest authentication mechanisms to implement but won't help you much past that.
ok i looked at the sites and stuff i have a place that says i can use script and stuff now where is the easiest place to figure out how to use the scripts how to install them step by step and how to write the scripts so they will work thank you again
Which script would you be using. I'd say that'd be a good place to start.
well which script i'm not sure which ever one is the easiest to write, and use for my project. Which one would you say would be the easiest to use PHP or CGI i'm still at a loss and i'n not even sure how to get it to interact with the web server so it will work and i am having alot of trouble finding reasource to learn the scripts easy enough so that a normal person can use them.
You can go to www.hotscripts.com. They have a nice database of very helpful scripts in php, javascript, etc. Most of them come with online or zipped manuals which give you step by step explanations on what to do and how to do it. As for password script, I remember seeing one there, same as bravenet's only without any ads. They have the whole category for authentication, check them out. Regards, Andrey
Looks like you got your question answered so I'm just gonna say :welcome
