i'm sure there are. i'm not though. i made this avatar. that is an example of my graphics design capability!
*shivers* I'm into photography and such, but I can do a bit with the digital playground! :-P here is my photo site: http://photo.acgcny.com
Be Higher, congratulations on your new moderator status. The only problem is that there is not much to moderate at this point. Unless you recruit some "graphic losers" from your database, it won't be much to do around here. I haven't seen many spammers around here. Andrey
Where the Pictures?
DV: Have you signed up to be a loser? it's the cool thing to do! BR: Where are the pictures methinks he meant.
What program do we use to make pictures?
Photoshop? The GIMP? I use both.
Photoshop is pricey. And what the heck is the GIMP?
It's linux's Graphic something something something. Paint? Dunno what else you could use, paint shop pro and corel are a few others.
So we post pictures to review/edit and stuff here right? Oh, hey, anybody know of any good graphic compressors?
The best image compressors I know are Photoshop and Paintshop. You can just open the original image and then "save as" with a different quality. that will reduce the size dramatically and if you did it right should keep the quality relatively good. Photoshop is very expensive but Paintshop is much cheaper but has similar if not better compression features. As for all the small crap out there...some of them probably work, other don't. There is a lot of them but I never tried them before. Andrey
Photoshop also has a great "Save for web" option which compresses even more, and lets you see previews of up to four different compression levels. I haven't used any "3rd party" programs to do compressions before.
I've got some pretty good graphic editors but only ok at designer status... PaintshopPro all the way here...
Yep, PaintShop is good but I think PhotoShop has more features and I like advanced stuff although I don't even know how to use half of it
95% of people involved with online technology always prefer the bigger better products.. and 100% of them never know how to use all the features in the programs ;-) :) Speaking of bigger and better.. did you guys know that SAMS Club has really decent computers out now... for decent prices.. and instead of a 30 day return policy they are now 6 month return... you'll NEVER have to go down in technology again!
I got my memory card for my digital camera at Sams. It was just about as cheap as it would be online, but had tax. around 40 dollars for a 128 meg smart media.
Speaking of image editing. Anyone uses the new Photoshop cs 8.0? Is it any good? I don't know if I should get it. My friend has it so I'll take it from him I guess.
I installed PSP just because everyone else had it. Then I loaded it, looked at it for 5 minutes, clicked a few things, didn't "get it" so I closed it and never opened it again  raven
The only one I ever used was PhotoShop. I had minimal proficieny in it. I have installed some off the web a number of times like PaintShop and HotDog and never really got a feel for them. Adobe makes a pretty solid product.

b_heyer  I know you're right. I guess I really didn't care enough to spend more time trying to figure out how it works. Besides, if I really need a graphic or image (are they the same thing??) I can always find someone (like you  ) to make it for me. raven
I didn't realize I wasn't logged in when I posted that message. I missed out on a post count! raven
that is a horrible thing raven! hey, where the pictures?
What pictures? raven
We have a whole forum devoted to these images but I can't find any!
Keep looking, BigRob, they gotta be here somewhere! raven
