Strategies for link building

Basic strategy: ASK. Yes it's time consuming and it sort of sucks but imagine the rewards. I was reading an article that said a PageRank of 8 was worth $250,000! Just having that PageRank! Imagine why it's worth so much: because of the enormous traffic. Just trade links with everyone!

work on the content more. if you have good content people will link to you automatically without you needing to ask.

Make sure all of your pages are linked from all of your other pages.

Make sure to crosslink with a few trusted sites in your category. It will make a big difference.

and keep an eye on your link partners! I was checking mine today and about 75% of them were not true to the recipirocal link... kinda a waste to tear down what you have built, but not honoring a link is lame. Just my thoughts.

You should still probably trade links. The fact is after a few months the PageRank goes up for any sites that are linked. Plus you need anchor text as well as PageRank so the more links you get the better.
