Why .NET?

Correct me if I'm wrong fellas, but isn't .net usually some type of net service? I think this would fall under that catagory. I registered .net because it sounds cooler :-D again, correct me if i'm wrong.

I think that Ashok is referring to Microsoft .NET technology. .NET is a platform built on the Internet Protocol. If it is applied let's say to Visual Basic, it will help you develop online based applications. You can see it applied to many languages. It's call .NET because it has to do with the network and world wide network which is Internet. P.S. I have never worked with it but I pretty much know whats it about. Hope it answers your question :)
