Ok...I cancelled the mirroring. But I still own the domain name. This brings me to my next question. What part does the actual name play in search results if any? If i had come across a better ..more topic related name for my site..would it be worth changing the old site over to the new domain and renaming the site? I run a hunting related website and thought up a more theme related name for my site that begins with the word "Hunting" versus the old site that begins with a non-related hunting term. Would it make a difference and if so would it be worth the change. Thanks again... I can always count on you guys. Hawg
domain names mean a lot. especially keyword-keyword domains. always add the - because google doesn't recognize _.
I didn't realize google didn't read the _ ... Thats another thing when choosing domains tho... If you have a site: www.bite-me.com chances are .. you will feed the site: www.biteme.com .... I use to get most of my business from a company who had bought a domain name with dashes in it.. and left the undashed one available .. tsktsk... ... thats another one where I'd use the one that I would buy both with and without dashes and use a mirror off of the one that will benefit you the most... if google will read bite-me.com better .. then make that your main with biteme.com the mirror... My head is spinning.. did that actually make ANY sense at all???
