yeah, then you need to do the re-directs right. you need to set 301's. if you do it right it will pass the pagerank and all the rankings to the new pages.

No. The whole point is that it will send spiders and visitors to the right place. What are you doing with page names? And domain names? Are you combining all the pages at the new site? Are there duplicate names?
There are some duplicates, but most of the pages are uniquue
It would probably be easiest to just point all the DNS at the same server. You just move all pages to the new server. You keep the page names the same. So you have http://www.oldserver.com/page.html and http://www.newserver.com/page.html equal the same page. So whoever is doing your DNS just points them all the same IP address. That way all links should remain intact.
