I think the contest is a great idea. I'm with Edwin though. I have very little if any talent. I mean I can sing a little, but hardly American Idol quality. Random drawing for me all the way. Are you planning on doing the drawing on a WebCam? That would be cool!
Great ideas! With so many levels of expertise, it would have to fair to everyone. Maybe it could be about the happiest day of your life? I think everyone here, no matter what their skill level is, should be able to write a short paragraph or two about that. That could be a general drawing for anyone with a prize of 50.00 ??
Yeah. Basically what they write about could be arbitrary but something to get to know them a bit. That would encourage them to become members of the community when they realize that lurking is pointless and people need to contribute in order to be able to get anything :)

can you be in both contests? I'm worried that nobody would think they could win the redesign and would go for the drawing and then you would have only one or two designs to choose from. I really like the look of the site allready though :(
Yeah, you could probably be in both. I mean the chance of someone winning both seems highly unlikely.
just make a rule that if you win the design contest you are ineligable for the drawing. Dont anounce the results untill the other contest is decided.
I guess one person could win both. Not only talented, but lucky.
