How do I gather email addresses?

Hello PrimeMoverandShaker You are imagining the process wrong. It is relatively simple. All you need to do is setup newsletter manager on your server, create the form on your site and create your newsletter in either plain text or HTML. Most newsletter managers have mass submit feature that will allow you to contact all of your subscribers at the same time with one newsletter. I would suggest using the following PHP newsletter manager: http://www.x-gfx.de/x/dev?a=downloads&do=nfo&id=9. It has a sample form which you can just copy and paste into your web page. Just follow the instructions and if you get lost, you know where to find us. Good luck.

the newsletters scripts like andrey mentioned have tons of features, including ubsubscribe. make sure you have a way to unsubscribe. otherwise, you might get in trouble with your isp.

to use the mailing list service such as yahoogroups or topica. Don't need to worry about the programming stuff. :lol:

Our site at http://www.aardvarkmailinglist.net does exactly what you describe. You just copy and paste some HTML code and everything else is done for you. We've only just launched the project but it's proving to be a popular little tool - probably because it's free! :D Aaron
