Is Their Less Spam in your Inbox Today?

I havn't gotten any of those with that new virus at all today. I had been getting them for about a week, every day. It finally stopped, for now. yay. lol

They can't possibly target all the spam and spammers will always find new ways to spam but you can say there was a tiny decrease in the spam lately. Let's just wait and see what happens.

My email address is still relatively undiscovered. I have only one regular spammer, you know, the multi millionair who needs my credit card number....

there is a ton of spam in my mailbox! its worse than ever!

we gotta face it, spam will always be a part of the internet.

as long as idiots keep buying stuff from spammers it will always be around!

is there one person in the world who does? i've never heard of anybody doing that.

People definitely buy from email spam. A lot of people do. But the bigger problem is that it only takes a small amount of money to make a lot of profit. For online pharmacies one sale can result in a lot of money. A true heavy hitter spammer can probably send out 1 billion emails a day. Even with a very low conversion rate the money gets huge fast!

*sigh* That's really stupid. I have trouble believing people do that...

Many of the people even send their credit card information through email!

A lot of folks are not internet savvy. This seems amazing, but people fall for it day in and day out. What other reason would there be to spam all day long?

but...you dont have to be internet or tech savy...you just have to not be stupid.... and i AM stupid...and I dont even fall for that...

You may be stupid but these people are real stupid!

..plus you have to have a credit card! :) My parents won't do transactions over the internet at all. They are ultra paranoid about having their credit card numbers stolen. They won't enter stuff like their social security numbers either..

Spam is one thing but the Virus attacks are getting out of control and take a lot of time to stop.

One thing in common is none of it is good news.

Some ways to reduce spam and viruses in mail that I use: 1. Avoid Outlook like the plague. Use Mozilla. 2. Avoid IE like the plague. Use Mozilla. 3. Never put your actual e-mail address in anything, unless you really trust it: especially anything run by a large, ad-sponsored company. 4. Use a Javascript script that hides your e-mail address from web-crawlers. I use one, and get no spam. ish. 5. Reply to all e-mails containing irrelevant content or an unidentified attachment with something along the lines of "[rude word] off or I'll spam you to death". I tried this once, and it worked. 6. Never trust Microsoft's security. Get Mozilla, Zonealarm, Ad-Aware and a good virus scanner. 7. Don't make me angry and give me your address.

Just dont open those emails at all. The spammers will see that the email isnt working and will stop sending

You may be right. Personally, I find threatened violence works better than ignorage, particularly with auto-spam.

I don't seem to be getting much at all at the moment!
