As for the Guest posts.... - Isn't there a way to block "Guests" from posting??? I've noticed on other sites they force you to sign up or in to post....
guest posting didn't matter when this was a new untested site. every little bit helped. but now that we're huge, maybe we don't need these guests!
I'd have to say it doesn't seem much worth allowing Guests to post.. a majority of the "guest" post come from people forgetting to sign in or losing a cookie...
yeah I tend to agree. if someone can't even fill out a three line free registration form, how deep is there commitment?
My worry, for your sake and those loyal to you, is .. the bigger you get how many of these guests are going to post BS messages, false or misleading, or even worse SPAM... I hope we are helping build your site into a valuable information resource for many webmasters (minus our competitive posting of course) ... Would seem a shame to turn into some of the groups I've seen today.. where no matter where you look its ad after ad.. and no information or room to "breathe"

LOL The Kid -- I hope those caps were a joke, because they made me laugh :lol: As far as forums go, this one is doing very well I think for 2 mths old. Forums are very hard to get going because people look and see nothing and don't post and its a vicious circle.... Ours is a fun little forum thats fairly small, but we like it. Its mostly members and customers, but we found that when we put site updates and found people using our product, posting it in the forum got people to go there and then in turn they finally started posting :lol: My partner and I recently took over a womens' web design forum (www.pixelitas.com) as well thats doing well. Its 4 yrs old and a small quaint group. I've been a member there for several years now and consider those people very close friends. Remember, sometimes it doesn't take masses to make a very successful community!
true enough. any community can flourish on the internet really. there are millions of folks with different ideas, beliefs, hobbies etc. and the internet is a place that they can come together even though they may live thousands of miles apart!!
