Help....I need some motivation.

It's like anything else: there's definitely a repetitive, unexciting element to the webmaster job. But that's all part of the job. Just take your time and plug your way through the work. It will be worth it in the long run.

motivation: cut the 15 minutes of fighting with yourself and someday you'll be done. someday.. someday.... someday......

[quote:b4e9d08e72="fyrehawg"]Do you guys ever get to where you would rather have teeth pulled than to do another repetitive thing to your website? Im in the middle of optimizing and adding meta tags and h1 tags and "spring cleaning" if you will all of my pages and have about 200 pages to go. It's to the point to where I know the quicker i get it done the better...BUT i am seriously tired of it.... SO unmotivated and SO bored with it. Im averaging about 15 mins a page so i figure i have 50 hours left of boredom( that's not counting the 10-15 mins in between each page where I fight with myself to push on and do another one). Now i see why people want to charge you so much to SEO your site.... not because it's extremely difficult..but because it extremely GETS ON YOUR NERVES.[/quote:b4e9d08e72] I know what you mean; I’ve doing data entry on a site to build a topic structure for two months 8 to 16 hours a day. It gave me a serious case of directory burnout.

Repeat this Mantra. It will all pay off. It will all pay off. It will all pay off. Tap your heels together 3 times, for good measure. It will all be worth it :)

just think of the millions! the car. the rims. the bling! :P

It beats having to go back and do the work on the fly.

The months of data entry came after a year of R&D and 227 pages of documentation. Doing the work on the fly leaves a mess and over generalized inconsistent topics with excessive content.

A three year time period is very do-able. Almost any website online for that long, that was well planned and implemented would undoubtedly be self sufficient in that timeframe. Good luck with your venture. If you're really into the topic you can make great money and enjoy your work too.

good luck on the directory, stoner! looks like you've done a nice job so far!
