hi firehawg, one of your questions was if you should link to outbound sites. the answer is yes. put a few links on the pages to the premier web sites in your category. that will help you a bit. have you checked the pagerank of your competitors on key phrases you are competing with? do they have high pagerank?
funny you asked that...I was looking around last night at my Big competitors and found out that hardly any of them have a PageRank at all...There was just one and his was only average at like a 4 or so and this guy recieves something like 300,000 unique visiters a month. Has over 8,000 pages. All the other ones rarely had a page rank and if so maybe a 1 or so. My market is Outdoors- Hunting -Fishing realated and even the major merchants in this field such as remington guns and large corparations like that really don't have much of a PageRank..if any to speak of. I think i checked 7-8 large corporate site and maybe 2 had any kind of page rank. What im doing is finding related site..their site may not be hunting or fishing but possibly ammunition or outdoors supplies and asking for a link exchange between us.
okay, another tip for you is: make sure to submit to directories. the more directory listings you get for Outdoors- Hunting -Fishing and the more links you get from Outdoors- Hunting -Fishing sites will make a HUGE difference. if your competitors have little pagerank, you will be able to dominate the rankings in no time. but search engines are computer programs pretty much, so they put a HUGE premium on anything that has human involvement. that's why they favor sites with links and directory listings. the engines "know" that a human looked at your site and put it in Outdoors- Hunting -Fishing. the more pages you make with that specific content the better off you will be.
the large companies like remington probably devote NO time to search engine optimization. they don't need to, they have a brand name. however, if hardly anyone has pagersank, that means you should be able to get in there on a number of key words and start pulling traffic right away. make sure to optimize your pages from the ground up since you are doing a site redesign anyway.
Whats key things to do if i want to target specific keywords within my pages? Just be sure I have lots of content covering those keywords? If someone could maybe take a look at what im doing and tell if you have any pointers that would be great! URL http://www.book-a-hunt.com hawg

Hi Firehawg, I read your post. 65 pages of content is actually a pretty decent sized website. You sound like you have many of the principles in place on your website so far. If you implement a couple of these suggestions and add content heavy pages you are gonna do great.
What would you put index follow how many days if you want the best results ??? I have my main index pages on my sites 1 day ??
If you are referring to the "meta robots" tag, you don't need to worry about specifying a value. Index, Follow is the default behavior. Putting a link from the main page should be enough for any page to get indexed.
