HOLY COW HELP

when the sites are new, they seem to experience some sort of flux. you will see the site in and and out of the index. eventually it will settle in. nothing to worry about, although i know exactly how you feel.

All of us have had the same problem Hawg... :) It does get better! :)

yeah, the truth is you can't count on the results being "stable" for at least a couple months. you will go nuts in the meantime.

Don't forget.. Google is NEVER stable! That is why links from other sites are also important... Search Engines are awesome... and they help a lot.. but don't let that be the end of your marketing..

good point. if you put all your eggs in one basket...one day they change their "algo" and you are finished. never use a strategy where you can get knocked out with one punch :)

So me not even being able to search my URL is no big deal? The weirdest thing man....I just noticed (again ..im a hunting and fishing site) a keyword search of "Deer Hunting" which is a pretty broad search brought me back on page one of both google and yahoo..one of em I was number 6. Anyhow...what your saying is I can expect being my site is so new that I'll be in and out of googles directory for awhile? I hope thats all it is..I was scared that that company i was using did something to get me banned. One more thing...how long does it usually take before I get back in? Ive got some good links comming in from a few good sites.

Depends on how long it takes for you to put yourself onto those other sites.... Marketing, link sharing, all of that takes time and effort.. You have to go find relevant sites that are willing to share or link with you....

it's no big deal. google uses a number of different data centers and sometimes not all the data is consistent. thats why you will sometimes see the differing results from search to search.

It's not that my results have changed...my website is not listed with google at all. I went from first page of several of my keywords to within five minutes my site not even being on google at all. As in i search www wiget com and its not found at all. ???

yeah i know. its all part of the same problem. in a few weeks the site will be in there and stay in there.

ok thanks edwin and others....makes me feel alot better..i thought i was fixin to have to get me a new domain and change my name. If I have a PR6 a PR3 and a PR4 linking to me now...along with some other directory type stuff..should that be good enough to get me any kind of PR at all and nail me down in the engines? This board is by far the best source of information I have found..it's nice to see some experienced guys like you all willing to lend a hand to a newbie like myself. I appreciate it greatly.

no problem. everyone is in the same boat as you when starting, wondering what's happening. wondering "where did my site go?" :) if you have a PR6 link you will probably start off at PR 4 and stay there. once the site gets PR it stays pretty stable in the rankings.

that PR 6 site you got to link to you will come in real handy. that should get you to a respectable 4 or so on the first update.

Back on google as of 11pm tonight..that wasnt long....results are much worse but still Im back. Still no PR for some reason it hasnt picked up my links yet except for 2 of them..my good links arent showing up yet. How long till I can expect it to take to find my links and give me a PR? And once it does how can I expect that to change my rank in results?

I agree with Edwin. Google's data centers shift information during it's dance or even freshbot. You will see your data change even within 5 minutes time period during a index.
