It is funny that the spyware companies are favoring Google by keeping them out of their profiles. What is funny is that they consider the ALEXA toolbar spyware, but since they are afraid of Google (Google toolbar automatically updates without users knowledge) they do not add them to the profiles. One of the reasons are this, if you look at Googles own page on their website that they published a few days ago on Industry Self Regulation suggestions for spyware/adware, they list links at the bottom of the page for ADAWARE and SpyBot. So Google is sending millions of web users to these spyware vendors websites. Downloads of these programs from the download sites are at record levels so the public is very interested in these spyware/adware removal tools. Google is afraid that if these (BIAS) owners of these spyware companies add them to the spyware/adware profiles that their own spyware programs will be doomed, so they send millions of computer users to the spyware sites from the links on their page. Clever move by Google, they think they can keep their finger in the dam this way. Soon a more clever spyware software developer will get wise to these (BIAS) spyware outfits that leave Google out of their profile (but have the ALEXA toolbar that collects less information than Google) and create a profile that is complete, that includes GOOGLE SPYWARE ALSO. see the spyware and toolbar page on http://www.searchwars.squarespace.com
they are afraid of google because they dont want to lose their search rankings.
