When you are running a forum I think that the most important thing is to let the members speak their mind. You are basicly a publisher when running a forum, if you censor, you lose your integrity as a real time online publisher. I have seen some moderators that get so uptight to think that when anyone differed with their so called expert opinion, that they would call the debate to an end or censor the debate, instead of letting the members speak... That type of censorship and moderation makes a forum one that nobody wants to contribute to.....I had one lady that asked me on SearchGuild about where I got my knowledge on business and the moderator deleted her post from the thread since he did not want anyone to think that he was losing the debate we were having, what a lightweight that guy is, it is a poor reflection on a forum (publisher) in a country of free speech to censor comments of members. Let the chips fall where they may and let the readers learn from both sides and make their own judgements based on what they judge is correct... That is what will make this forum successful, those that favor certain technologies, or companies that may not even last a few years are short sighted. The basis of a good forum is the reference of the pages and the knowledge base created by the contributors, that is really what the forums true assets are, the knowledge base itself, that is the value... That is why I think you will be successful here, let it all hang out, lets here what everyone has to say, let the members decide what is right based on the real issues..like the old saying goes, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen (business)
i agree with those points. healthy differences of opinions are always a good thing.
