Edwin you can get a pop up blocker from Norton Internet Security within their best virus program, you do not have to use a spy tool to get that.
The Pop Blocker is the easiest way to get people to download the SpyWare. Give them something free, they don't read the policies, and you have them.
That is part of Google's plan, to exclude other competitive advertising networks, so that GOOGLE ADS have your undivided attention... That is part of the monopoly that they have, the FTC will look into all adware products including Google's redirection of traffic from search listings back into ADSENSE publishers websites. I do not like pop up blockers, they are a waste of time, a lot of web pages use pop ups to deliver relevant parts of the content. So I do not use them Google is not the only one using spyware Alexa, and most of the other toolbars are considered spyware, I will post a link in my next post here giving you a link to a page where you can download SPYBOT a good scanning program, this will get most if not all of the spyware files loaded on your box.
The google toolbar has been giving me errors lately, but im not surprised because my whole IE browser is messed up--i'm using mozila because IE doesn't download pictures or view source code anymore :-/. Seriously though, google is getting annoying. I'll get the MSN or Yahoo! toolbar.
http://www.searchwars.squarespace.com/display/ShowPage?moduleId=16431 If you go to the above page, at the bottom of the page there are links for SPYBOT software, two of the best spyware scanners, you should download them both and scan your computer daily. You must download the software, when it is downloaded you must check for updates. After you have loaded the most recent update, you should run the scan, it will show you all of the spyware loaded on your machine, simply from surfing the net. If you want to leave certain files on your computer, like certain toolbars that you wish to continue to use, you must UNCHECK those files so that the program does not delete them. this is one of the best SPYWARE scanners in the market, the other one is ADWARE that can be downloaded from the www.zdnet.com download page, just run a search for ADAWARE on this page you will see the software listed in the search result. I use both programs, they will not conflict, just follow the instructions and update the reference file daily to try to keep ahead of the spyware scam artists. They can install dialers to dial 900 numbers, highjack your browser and use your computer to send out viruses to others, so you should take this to heart....
The type of people who have a ton of SpyWare installed truly won't even understand what it is or what it does. I expect to see more and more of this stuff all the time.
B K Do you scan your computers for spyware, what virus software are you running.....
I ran the SpyHunter. The only thing it turned up was the Alexa.
Are you talking about spybot software that was mentioned in the link 4 posts up in this thread or a different program?
Hmm. Its the AdAware one. It's a trial version and you can't clean with it.
In the link below, when you get to the page it takes you to, go to the bottom of the page and you will see 2 links for spyware programs, these are the best programs other than ADAWARE, ADWARE does not have a trial version. Forget about adaware for now, go to this link and at the bottom of the page you will find the links http://www.searchwars.squarespace.com/display/ShowPage?moduleId=16431 These are two separate spyware software programs, SPYBOT is a scanner for what is already on your computer. The other one operates like a anti virus program, by not letting spyware get into your computer in the first place. You just have to download the programs and learn how to use them....
