HI John, I just registered and saw your post about needing a good, inexpensive text editor. How does FREE sound? http://www.notetab.com [b:946a12d401]Note Tab[/b:946a12d401] has a terrific application called Note Tab Light 4.95 that can be downloaded free and this is not just a trial version either. If you decide to buy the Pro version at a later date (I didn't upgrade for nearly 4 years), it is only $19.95. I think you will be impressed. Good Luck, Mike
Dave; Mike, Thanks for the help. I'm up and running now and working on my first Web page. Thanks very much. John:D
what did you find to do the job in the end?
yeah, what's your page? and good job! you can always hand code too--it's not as hard as it sounds.
Dave/Rickyjo, I am still using the [b:75a4e793ae]Windows XP [/b:75a4e793ae]notepad to write html code for my web page and I'm fairly happy with the results so far. I thought that an editor would be a quick fix to creating a web page but the [b:75a4e793ae]NoteTab[/b:75a4e793ae] program has screeds of text to read in the help menu and I guess I'm just [u:75a4e793ae]too impatient[/u:75a4e793ae]. The web page is intended to contain information about a band I'm playing with just now. At some point I intend to put links onto the page to allow a visitor to listen to any of the songs and maybe even download them, (if they're derranged enough). [b:75a4e793ae]John[/b:75a4e793ae] :D
this is a good step up from notepad www.araneae.com and it's freeware, and least you can have syntax highlighting, which is a big help
