Conversion Rates?

A lot of this could be your competition looking at your Ecommerce system, I do that all the time simply to record the pages, then drop off when it comes time to put the credit card in. You simply need to get more visitors to your site to get more sales, but looking at improving your interface with, GET right to ordering instead of trying to cross sell folks by running other cross selling pages, (like Godaddy does) take the customer direct to the order page quickly will always help conversion.

Thanks for the info anthonycea. There is pretty much just one product for sale, so not too many other things to "confuse" the consumer in the meantime. I think that Google must have recently indexed pages, because traffic is up and there have been a few sales rolling back in. I am going to keep a close eye on my logs.. We have put a lot of work into the site.. and its nice to see a return on it. In your opinion, what would be the maximum amount of products you would sell on an ecommerce site?

No limit, as long as you break it down in a index, making it easy for users to find those profiled product lines.

Maybe we will add some extensions has demand will have it. Put together a streamlined shopping cart with like minded products. We'll see how things go..

i have never seen reliable reports of conversion industry. i hear someone say that 1:100 is good but i dont think people do that well. it takes a lot of visitors to make any money.

That number seems low. That is probably why Adsense is displayed on so many websites. You get paid per click, even if it doesn't convert. I don't trust that program much, though. There have been a lot of PSA's on sites that I have visited lately. Too bad the publishers couldn't get stats on what traffic driven actually converted to a sale, but I'm sure Google wants to keep that hush-hush. What if you found out that you had a 75% CTR and were getting paid pennies to drive the traffic there, and Google was making 500% of off it? I'm sure that it's happening already. Anyhow.. I sort of rambled and got off topic.. *edited for typos's*

you can still make big money even with a low conversion rate if you pick a high paying program. you need to look for affiliate programs with high payouts.
