Spammer Sentenced to Jail

Good stuff!

The headline is a bit misleading. He was actually sentenced for "identity theft". When he gets out of jail, he can look forward to paying Earthlink their $16.5 million settlement.

oh wow. i feel sorry for the guy, to think, i was all worked up about a 10 dollar book fine.

I don't feel sorry for him.. He stole peoples identities. That is something that takes a long time for a victim to recover from. Credit Reporting Agencies are a devil to work with, and it takes a while to straighten out your credit report afterwards. I was not a victim of identity theft, however a couple of years back a "person" in California got ahold of my debit card number, charged a couple thousand dollars worth of jewelry from the home shopping channel (which I didn't even get on cable) and "cowboy wear" from some other joint. The cowboy joint suspected fraud and contacted me to verify the order.. Long story short, the bank had to reimburse me. It was not a good feeling.. ..and who asked for 825 million spams? I know I didn't.. :)

825 million spams! And I'm sure we've seen his work.
